Ensuring dispatch traceability and delivering a good experience to carriers and customers

Today, more than ever, it is a real need to have systems that make it easier to observe the life cycle of our processes from start to finish, guaranteeing consistency in the information and the best experience for both our collaborators and our end customers. Technologies have advanced, today we have more tools at our disposal, but the challenge is knowing how to find innovative solutions to specific business problems.

For this reason, we developed an application for a client that allows carriers to verify that the gas cylinders received during dispatch coincide in number and characteristics, as well as maintain complete traceability of the dispatch process in order to ensure customer satisfaction. your end customer.
Durante este desarrollo se detectaron algunas particularidades y consideraciones a tener en cuenta:

• The carriers did not have a SAP user.
• For the login of the carriers, a measure had to be built that validates the carrier according to their Rut, patent and password, being able to only see their folios.
• The customer pages were always in the same center as the carrier's page.
• To obtain the detail of the carrier folio, a specific RFC must be used.
• A reject button was not required. In the event that a customer dispatch could not be carried out manually, it should be indicated that it was not carried out directly in the application in order to finalize the carrier's folio.

Based on this requirement, we proceeded to carry out the analysis and evaluation to build the solution.

What was done?

To solve this problem, a BTP mobile application integrated with the SAP ECC system was developed, which allows carriers from their cell phones to verify the dispatch requests from consumers, verifying that the cylinders are delivered complied in number and form with those requested. .
A nivel técnico la solución está soportada en la siguiente arquitectura:

Where did this develop?

A SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) application was developed through SAP UI5, which allows viewing the number of cylinders by characteristics to be withdrawn at the consumer or end customer's facilities, confirming the dispatch or rejecting it in case of not complying with the request made.
The application communicated with SAP ECC (Version of the company's ERP) through ODATA (Open Data Protocol is a protocol that allows any client to obtain information from any source) and RFC (protocol to manage communications between systems to simplify related programming) to perform all the updating and management of requests as applicable to each case and left the traceability of the activities carried out by each office.

What was the results?

After performing a set of tests and deploying this solution in their organization, our client obtained:

✅ Greater speed and agility to validate cylinders by carriers
✅ Greater traceability and monitoring of dispatches made
✅ Information in real time and consequently reduction of dispatch times
✅ Reduction in the loss of cylinders

Although it is true, this solution was focused on the dispatch of gas cylinders, this solution is transferable to any other type of dispatch that is required in your organization. If you are interested that we can support you in a solution of this type, our consulting services Characterized by a team of professionals with vast experience and knowledge, they are at your service to support you: Let's Talk!.
